When I was a kid growing up in Texas I could walk to my grandparents house in about 20 minutes. There were often wildflowers growing along the road, and I would pick them and give a bouquet to my grandma upon arrival. She would smile and exclaim and put them in a jar on the table, every time. She also put my art on the fridge. She was the sweetest person I knew. It meant a lot. Every time I paint flowers in jars it reminds me of kindness, and helps keep the memory of my grandma alive.
